Burrinja September 2015

On Sunday the 13th of September, 2015 in a co-presentation with the Burrinja Cultural Centre,170 patrons were present for what was a most enjoyable afternoon of music making.  Under the baton of Eric Klay,  the Nicholas Chamber Orchestra performed Elegy for Strings - a beautiful tribute to Jenny Morrish, percussionist/timpanist who passed away suddenly.

Robert Schubert (clarinet), Anne Martonyi (violin I),
Zsolt Martonyi (violin II), Rosalind Burns (viola)
and Joanna Tidy (cello), playing Mozart's Clarinet Quintet.

It was a great opportunity for The Ranges Young Strings to come and perform as a group in the foyer and with the orchestra in Haydn's Toy Symphony. A delight to see the intensity on the young faces whilst performing this music. We may eventually see some players take up percussion!
